Anawangin Cove, San Antonio, Zambales 2010

The Philippines shores is loaded with beautiful beaches. Some flooded with tourists during peak season, but as we all know, there's a lot more to be discovered and preserved in our country. One of them is Anawangin Cove in San Antonio, Zambales. It is known amongst beach bums and travellers by now, since it is famous for its white sand beach and lush green pine forest, just 20 minutes via boat from San Antonio Town, in Zambales.

Summer of 2010 was an epic Arki (a nickname/term we use for architecture students) all star PBC outing. It was a perfect time to hit the beach as the heat of summer started and a break from school before we get busy with our theses for the next school year.

It takes less than an hour drive to San Antonio beaches from the marketplace, and another 20 minutes via boat to get to Anawangin Cove. 

We left our van at a house near the shore. You can hire a motor powered boat to get you to the Island then be picked up on your desired departure time and date. If you're on a budget, prices could be haggled with the boat operators and parking rentals.

Upon arrival, we set our tents for an overnight stay. It was really fun to set up your own mini camp away from the city, by the beach with the company of your best buds. Everything can turn from organized to disaster with these guys, which makes it more fun. How I miss you college :)

You can bring food and beverages in the island. The moon shines bright to accompany us and other campers hanging around. A bonfire to heat up the cold night's dinner paired with beer and friends :)

As morning came, you couldn't ask for a better sunrise by the beach. Although the heat of the sun gets our skin tan in minutes, nothing could stop these guys from fooling around!
